The God Complex

My learning curve has taken a serious hit after I joined a B-school and I have been looking for new ways to correct its asymptotic nature.Recently, repeated mention of a phrase made me curious. Rarely do I get a chance to add to my ‘stagnant’ vocabulary so I wasted half a day in productive work that included researching on the particular term and pondering over how it had been used in various situations. After a fruitful toil, I came up with:

God Complex: People afflicted, talk about themselves in third person too.

With so many theologians eager to throw light on such a profound subject it was only a matter of time before I became an expert. Surprisingly this whole bunch of pagan mystics and adepts congregate in a 2 acre plot day after day, year after year (what is the probability of that happening!!). No wonder we as b-school students constantly boast of per-capita intellectual density. As a newly promoted guru, I took the liberty of modifying the definition.

God Complex: For some people with ordinary abilities, the realization that they are, in fact, more capable in many ways than most of the people in a certain B-school can lead to a distorted self-concept, a deep sense they really are better than everyone else.

But there is very little difference between angels and insects, Gods and morons, here.
